Taylor Park is nestled near the top of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 9,400 feet. The Taylor Park Trading Post is located 1/2 mile from the east shore of Taylor Reservoir and abounds with magnificent views of the Sawatch Range. The area around the resort is ideal for camping, hiking, motorcycling and ATVing, fishing, hunting, photography, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. Taylor Park is an excellent place to come to relax in the great outdoors and enjoy any outdoor recreation. RV sites are open late May-September. Store ,cafe, gift shop, LP gas, gas, diesel, and firewood. RV: 67 Sites, 35 Pull thrus (25 x 65), 32 Back-ins (25x65), 30/50 amps, restrooms, showers, laundromat, full hookups 2004 rates $25. CABINS: 33 all with kitchens, bathrooms. Call for rates. RECREATION: fishing, 4x4, ATV & motorcycle trails, hiking, horseshoes, playground, fire pits, fabulous views of Continental Divide and overlooking Taylor Reservoir. RESTAURANT: The Nugget Cafe offers a diverse menu with all the necessary good, old-fashion, down-home cooking to keep all the wives, bachelors, and back-woods enthusiasts from having to waste any precious vacation time cooking. ATV RENTALS & TRAILS: Rent our brand new ATVs and utility vehicles on site. Northeast of Almont and Taylor Park is the Texas Lakes Trail (#589) it begins off Texas Creek Road (FS755) in the Gunnison National Forest. SNOWMOBILING: The local snowmobile association grooms trails in the Irwin, Kebler, Ohio pass areas. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover cards. LOCATION: From Gunnison: Highway 135 North 10 miles to Almont, go right on County Road 742, then 24 miles to Taylor Park Trading Post.
