More than 25 miles of groomed trails are waiting for snowmobilers near Rifle.

Just north of Rifle in the White River national forest, the trails are marked and groomed by the Rifle Snowmobile Club. All levels of riders will find something to enjoy here - the trails offer a variety of options from steep climbs to flat meadows. And animal lovers should keep their eyes open - it's not unusual to catch a glimpse of the many deer and elk that live near the trail.

To access the Rifle Creek trailhead, take State Road 325 north of Rifle for 14 miles to Rifle Mountain Park.

The West Elk trailhead can be reached by taking State Road 325 nine miles north of Rifle. Turn right on County Road 226 and continue for about six miles to County Road 245. Turn left on CR 245 and drive 5 miles north to West Elk Reservoir. Park at the Gravel Pit.

The County Road 38 trail is 6.5 miles north of Rifle on State Road 325, near Rifle Gap Reservoir. Turn left from 325 onto County Road 252 and travel north 23 miles to County Road 38. Turn right onto 38 and continue two miles to the trailhead.

Reach the Miller Creek trailhead by traveling one mile north of Meeker on State Road 13. Turn right onto County Road 8 and drive 10 more miles to County Road 57. Turn right on County Road 57 and continue one mile to the parking area.
