It's no surprise that Estes Park is one of Colorado's most popular destinations. Just miles from Denver, nestled outside Rocky Mountain National Park, the town is a haven for vacationers across the nation.

Outdoor enthusiasts love the area's year-round activities. From snowshoeing to hiking, fishing to hunting, there's always something to do. Rocky Mountain National Park and nearby Roosevelt National Forest offer more than 400 miles of trails. Water lovers can enjoy Lake Estes, Marys Lake and the Big Thompson River, all within a few miles of each other.

And after a long day outdoors, downtown Estes Park serves up dining, entertainment and more than 300 shops.

When visitors are ready to leave, Estes Park even offers enjoyable routes to other Colorado destinations. Out of Estes Park, travelers can take Trail Ridge Road, a scenic byway and America's highest continuous highway, to the town of Grand Lake on the other side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Another scenic byway, the Peak to Peak Highway, winds through Colorado's historic mining towns to I-70, where visitors can stop in Central City for some gambling.
